Periksalah semua dokumen-dokumen yang
berhubungan dengan spesifikasi, kelas, mesin, rute, dan keselamatan kapal.
Secara umum perhatikanlah badan yang
memeriksa dan mengeluarkan sertifikat, tanggal diterbitkan dan masa berlakunya
sertifikat :

MAIN ENGINES, PROPULSION GEARS AND CLUTCH SYSTEMS (Tanyakan
keberadaan log book dan periksa rutinitas overhaul)

PROPELLER (BALING BALING)
7.
WIRING DIAGRAM (untuk kelistrikan)
8.
STEERING GEAR SYSTEM (hasil pengujian dengan seorang berada di
anjungan dan seorang lagi di dekat steering gear)
A.3. DOKUMEN
PERAWATAN/MAINTENANCE
Untuk mengetahui tingkat
perawatan mesin-mesin kapal periksalah dokumen-dokumen yang berhubungan dengan
perawatan harian, mingguan, bulanan, tahunan atau kegiatan perawatan berkala
lainnya, periksalah Maintenance Log Book dengan cermat. Periksalah
apakah maintenance schedule sesuai dengan rekomendasi pabrik pembuat
mesin-mesin tersebut.
A.3. DOKUMEN KESELAMATAN & PENANGGULANGAN
KEBAKARAN Untuk peralatan penanggulangan kebakaran dan prosedur tanggap
darurat, periksalah dokumen yang menyangkut peralatan keselamatan, prosedur dan
organisasi keselamatan.

Ruang muat, ruang mesin : kebersihan dan kerapihan
